NEW YORK
New York City, or as New Yorkers call it, "The Big Apple," is one of the largest megalopolises on the planet and, besides being one of the major financial hubs, New York is also one of the most important and visited tourist destinations. A trip to New York is definitely an experience to have at least once in a lifetime.
The City of New York is divided into five major Boroughs; Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island. Manhattan is undoubtedly the most famous area (Borough) with the highest concentration of Tourist Attractions, so much so that many tourists mistakenly believe it is actually "New York City," considering districts like Queens or Brooklyn as "suburbs." From the Empire State Building to Ground Zero, from the Statue of Liberty to Ellis Island, from the Rockefeller Center to Central Park.
There are many iconic places in Manhattan, but perhaps the one that best represents the vibrancy of New York City is "Times Square," which in recent years has been transformed into a pedestrian island. The famous square with thousands of neon signs gives a good idea of one of NYC's nicknames, namely the "City that Never Sleeps." Just think of the millions of people, both New Yorkers and tourists, who choose Times Square for New Year's Eve celebrations.
